William W. Sneed, the firm’s principle, has decades of experience, combined with political expertise and knowledge of insurance, campaign finance, and public policy.

Through his experience as former chief counsel to the Kansas Insurance Department and his regulatory, administrative, corporate and governmental affairs representation, Bill has the knowledge to provide quality counsel on any form of insurance issue at the local, state and federal levels.

Clients seek Bill’s assistance to address insurance concerns ranging from policy approvals and company admissions to complete company reorganizations. This experience, coupled with the knowledge gained as general counsel for the Kansas Turnpike Authority, enables Bill to offer a unique viewpoint to the client.

In successfully representing the diverse interests of clients, Bill appears before numerous administrative and legislative bodies, both at the state and federal levels. His founding membership in The Advocacy Group, a nationwide network of firms providing legislative support services, and The Federation of Regulatory Counsel, a nationwide group of attorneys at the top of their field in administrative practice, enables him to offer first-class representation in administrative law and government affairs.

Bill’s skills as a lecturer on administrative matters, insurance, and health care law are in high demand.

Key Representation:

  • Partnered with client to develop a two-year plan of implementation for new NASCAR track and surrounding development in Kansas City. Successful development of coalitions at the city, county and state levels involving governing bodies in terms of economic development, tax, and retail.

  • Partnered with client to develop a multi-year plan of implementation for a state-owned casino. The project involved successful legislative enactment, as well as successful development of coalitions at all areas of government in terms of economic development, tax, retail and gaming. Project resulted in legislation that was signed into law enabling the multimillion dollar project.

  • Successful drafting and passage of legislation that modified timelines and procedures for filing accident and health policies in Kansas.

  • Successfully defeated the legislative proposal banning state adoption of national Common Core standards. This was a genuine success considering the extremely conservative nature of the state legislature at the time.
